VIABLE is an operational partner of the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) in the BetterTogether / JuntosEsMejor Challenge, a global initiative to crowdsource, fund, and scale innovative solutions from Venezuelans, wherever they are, and innovators worldwide to support Venezuelans and host communities affected by the migration. Data collection in Mapping Santiago

Mapping Santiago is an initiative that seeks to find solutions by mapping more than 60 routes in the metropolitan area of Santiago de los Caballeros (Dominican Republic), including interurban routes, using open data and open source. The proyect was promoted by the Inter-American Development Bank (BIS), WRI, MIT, Columbia University, and in collaboration with the municipal autorities, the Council for Strategic Development of Santiago (CDES), the Pontifical Catholic University Madres and Maestra (PUCMM), transport operators and users, and civil society. VIABLE was part of the team that carried out the georeferenced survey of public transport routes for the conformation of the city’s GTFS standard.

Continental organization #HackAmericas

For years, the transport sector has been the optimal testing ground for new technological advances and the results have subsequently been replicated in other sectors. Thus, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the VIABLE teams in Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Santiago and Concepción joined to organize HackAmericas 2018, the first Latin American innovation contest on sustainable transport in the region.

The Hackathon RD-LAB is a collaborative movement aiming at improving cities in the Dominican Republic, a space for the new generation of innovative ideas and with business potential, to face the challenges of our cities using digital technology. The winning proposals will be supported in their incubation process and may get funded within the framework of the INTEC-BIDLAB project (up to US $ 10,000 per project)

Technical Audit of Service Quality Indicators for Public Transport – SUMO

The Observatory of Sustainable Urban Mobility of Santiago (SUMO), of the Diego Portales University, focuses on the collaborative and intelligent design of a set of indicators of sustainable urban mobility (SIS) in order to monitor the quality of service for the user in the Transantiago, which is the main actor of the public transport industry in Santiago, and enable conditions to improve the sector’s industry.

Panel moderation in the First Metropolitan Forum of Peatones (Medellín)
